9NEWS.com | Denver | Colorado's Online News Leader | Postal employee sentenced for stealing 11,000 packagesDavid Schmauder, a 48-year-old former USPS employee, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of theft by mail in federal court in August. He was sentenced in a federal court to the maximum sentence under the guidelines of 30 months after a judge rejected Schmauder's claims that obsessive-compulsive disorder and mental illness were the reasons he stole the mail.
Schmauder apologized to the people he stole packages from at his sentencing.
